On the road in Ontario for good jobs, strong public services, and healthy communities
People and communities are hurting because of job loss and service cuts in Ontario.
We wanted to gather the stories behind the statistics, and hear what people and communities need from their governments to survive. So, we went to more than 50 communities to hear what people had to say.
|
We covered more than 3,000 km, and held more than 100 events throughout the province — from Kenora in the northwest and Geraldton in the northeast to Cornwall in the southeast, and Windsor in the southwest. We made news and gathered stories. We uploaded videos to youtube and photos to flickr. We posted updates on twitter and discussions on facebook. You can access everything by category and by region on this site. And to keep you up to date with the latest, here’s the stream of activity. After 17 days on the road, we returned to Toronto on June 25 to share with representatives of the Ontario government people’s stories and pleas for immediate help.
No one and no community is alone in this struggle. Together, we know what action is needed. And together, we can see that the government listens.
